Privacy Policy

The Garden Perch (“we”, “this site”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and who processes it.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool. It does not use tracking cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It reports aggregate traffic only — pages visited, referring site, approximate country — so we can understand which content is useful. The measurement script is served by Cloudflare and no analytics data is sold or shared.

Advertising

Once this site carries display advertising, our ad partner(s) may use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads and measure performance. Where required (for example, for visitors in the EU/UK), a consent banner will let you accept or decline non-essential cookies before any are set. We will link the specific ad network’s own privacy policy here once ads go live.

Some pages contain affiliate links (see our Disclosure). Clicking one may set a tracking cookie on the retailer’s site so we can be credited if you make a purchase — we do not receive any personal information about you from this.

Our Pinterest application

We operate a private software application that connects to the Pinterest API. Its only purpose is to read performance statistics for our own Pinterest account, @thegardenperch — impressions, saves, and outbound clicks on pins we ourselves published — so we can understand which of our own posts are useful.

This application:

  • accesses only the Pinterest account we own and have authorised;
  • reads analytics and pin metadata only, and does not read, collect, or store data about Pinterest users who view or save our pins;
  • has no other users, no sign-up, and no user-facing interface — it is operated solely by the site owner;
  • stores its Pinterest access credentials privately on our own server and never transmits them to third parties;
  • does not sell, share, or publish any data obtained from the Pinterest API.

If Pinterest access is revoked, the application stops retrieving data and any stored credentials are deleted.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run tracking beyond the analytics described above.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/UK, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Given that our analytics are cookieless and aggregate, we typically hold no personal data about site visitors at all. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
